NABJJF Individual Ranking 

The NABJJF Individual Ranking ranks the top competitors of the sport who compete in NABJJF events according to the following guidelines:

  • The individual ranking season starts in January and ends in December 
  • Individual competitor ranking is based on Gender / Belt / Age group / Gi Division / NoGi Division
  • Ranking points will not be transferred from one belt rank to another.
  • Ranking points will not be transferred from one age division to another.
     

Individual Ranking is based on the following points system
and will be calculated as follows:

Tournaments with less than one thousand (<1000) competitors

7 points for 1st place

3 points for 2nd place

1 point for 3rd Place

Tournaments with over one thousand (>1000) competitors

14 points for 1st place

6 points for 2nd place

2 points for 3rd Place

 A one-man bracket will receive 3 points toward individual ranking.

If the competitor places in his or her weight division and open weight division, the division with the most points will count toward the ranking and not the sum of the two categories.

If there is a draw in individual scores, the winner will be decided by the largest number of gold medals received. In case that there is a draw on the gold medals, the winner will be decided by the largest number of silver medals received and so on.

NABJJF Team Ranking   

The NABJJF Ranking ranks the top teams of the sport who compete in NABJJF events according to the following guidelines:​

  • Competitors are required to identify their team, at time of registration so that the SJJIF software can keep accurate records.
  • All Athletes who register giving the same team name will contribute to the respective NABJJF team ranking.
  • No athlete or coach may change their team they are registered for after the check date deadline has passed.
  • ​The ranking season starts in January and ends in December 
  • Athletes who place top 3 in a tournament division will accumulate points for their country, professor, and/or team ranking based on of the following point structure:

Tournaments with less than one thousand (<1000) competitors

7 points for 1st place

3 points for 2nd place

1 point for 3rd Place

Tournaments with over one thousand (>1000) competitors

14 points for 1st place

6 points for 2nd place

2 points for 3rd Place

Points from divisions where only one athlete is signed up will not count toward country ranking, professor ranking, or team ranking.

If there is a draw in team scores, the winner will be decided by the largest number of gold medals received. In case that there is a draw on the gold medals, the winner will be decided by the largest number of silver medals received and so on.
